The New Palestine boys soccer team built a two-goal lead at halftime Thursday, but conceded four times in the second half in a 4-2 loss at Franklin Central. The Dragons scored first when Mark Everett cashed in on a drop pass from Eli Martin, who attacked deep into the Flashes' defense. The Dragons doubled the lead when Jake Wells' long punt went to Paxton Holmes, who was fouled in the box. He converted the ensuing penalty. However, the Flashes scored four times in the game's final 20 minutes, the last coming late when the Dragons were pushing up for the equalizer. The Dragons are now 2-3 on the season. They next play Saturday at home against Lawrence Central.
