The New Palestine girls soccer team won its Hoosier Heritage Conference opener Thursday, beating host New Castle 7-0. Gabby Brown tallied her third hat trick of the season for the Dragons and added an assist. Tylar Whitaker also had a hat trick and an assist. Nevaeh Gebhart also scored a goal. Brooke Tanksley had two assists while Rylee Hurst and Shaylee Frank each also added assists. Ady Eakin tallied the clean sheet, playing behind a defense that allowed just one shot on goal. The Dragons (3-1, 1-0 HHC) are next in action at 10 a.m. Saturday at Delta for a varsity only match.
