The New Palestine volleyball team clinched second place in the Hoosier Heritage Conference Thursday with a 25-20, 23-25, 25-22, 25-20 victory at Mt. Vernon. Honour Mallory had 27 digs to lead the Dragons' back row. Lauren Wilson had a double-double with 15 kills and 11 digs. Isabella Gizzi also tallied a double-double with 25 assists, 16 digs and five kills. Bella Brownfield tallied a third double-double with 10 kills and 10 digs. Azure Flagle added 11 digs. Reagan Kleiman produced a strong all-around game with 12 kills, six digs, four blocks and two aces. "Phenomenal team effort tonight," Dragons assistant coach Jamie Morris said. "It’s always great to go there and get the win. Honour was on fire in the back row, covering a lot of ground. Bella Brownfield did a great job of finding the floor and making plays in the back row. Isabella was offensive, which helped us a lot. Solidifying that win put us second in the conference which is something we haven’t accomplished in a long long time. I’m very proud of them." The Dragons also won the JV match 25-13, 25-19. The Dragons are now 23-4 on the season. They finish the regular season Saturday at the Pike Invitational before beginning sectional play Tuesday at Yorktown against Greenfield-Central.
