New Palestine High School

The New Palestine girls golf team shot 331 Saturday to finish fourth at the 18-team Lapel Invitational. Noblesville won the event with a 289. Noblesville's #2 team shot 316 and Hamilton Southeastern 327 to finish ahead of the Dragons. NP finished ahead of Lapel (342), NorthWood (347) and several other teams. Lauren Deering led the Dragons with a 78. Katie Kelley added a 79, including an eagle on the par-5 18th hole. Lily Kirchner shot 83 and Matti Tiede-White 91. Janie Hamilton's 97 was the fifth score. The Dragons are next in action Thursday at Southern Dunes against Lawrence Central and Southport.
