The New Palestine girls soccer team clinched second place in the Hoosier Heritage Conference for the second consecutive year Monday with a 3-1 victory at Shelbyville. The Dragons finish HHC play with a 6-1 record. They are 10-3-1 overall on the season. The Dragons got on the board first when Tylar Whitaker hit a shot from outside. Anna Luker then scored on a free kick that was placed just out of reach of the Shelbyville goalkeeper. In the second half, Whitaker added another beautiful shot over the keeper's head to extend the Dragon lead to 3-0. Grace Hasenkamp had 4 saves on the night to record the clean sheet. The four backs, Maddy Potter, Sydney Miller, Allie Blum and Vivian Miller, continue to play strong as they have only allowed eight goals in the last 11 games. The Dragons JV won 3-0 with goals by Shaylee Frank, Kansas Spicer and Addie Van Dam. Jaeda Jeffries and Ava Schroer shared the clean sheet. The Dragons travel to Center Grove Wednesday night to face the No. 8 Trojans.
