Boys track competes in regional

The New Palestine boys track and field team competed in Thursday's Greenfield-Central regional. The Dragons scored in five events. Jake Cooper was the Dragons' top finisher, placing fourth in the 1600 (4:23.92), finishing 4.91 seconds back of clinching a State Finals spot. Colton Spears finished eighth in the 100 (11.28). Quinn Crawmer was sixth in the pole vault (13-0). The 4x100 relay of Will Bardonner, Eli Wasson, Desmond Palmer and Spears finished sixth (42.82). The 4x400 relay of Charlie Rigsbee, Jake Cooper, Dylan Dragoo and David Pack also finished sixth (3:25.44). Also competing was the 4x800 relay of Danny Davis, Gavin Smith, Rigsbee and Cooper, who finished 15th. As a team, the Dragons placed 13th out of 28 teams, scoring 15 points. Cente rGrove won the title with 107.83 points, beating out Franklin Central (92) and Greenfield-Central (48).
