The New Palestine volleyball team hit the road Thursday and posted a tight 23-25, 25-15, 25-22, 25-23 victory at New Castle. The Dragons had a number of big performances, including two double-doubles. Isabella Gizzi had 51 assists and 14 digs, as well as five kills. Lauren Wilson added 16 kills and 12 digs. Reagan Kleiman added 13 kills Bella Brownfield tallied 10 kills and three aces. Nyla Lewis added eight kills. Senior libero Honour Mallory led the defense with 26 digs. "Great win against a tough opponent," Dragons assistant coach Jamie Morris said. "All around solid team win, we did a great job of responding being down 1-0 in the beginning. We had a lot of key components that helped us finish that game. Lauren and Reagan both had great nights in the front row. Honour was the anchor in the back row, and was a great leader that helped solidify the match. Nyla was big for us tonight, adding eight kills. Isabella tallied 51 assists. Being able to spread out the offense and have other people get kills was huge." The Dragons also won the JV match 25-9, 25-13. The Dragons are now 13-2 on the season and 4-0 in Hoosier Heritage Conference play. They host the New Palestine Invitational Saturday.
