Tennis closes regular season

The New Palestine boys tennis team played a strong match Thursday to close the regular season, but fell 5-0 to a senior-laden lineup at Chatard. All three singles matches went the distance. Moses Haynes dropped a 1-6, 6-4, 6-3 decision, while Arjomand Khokhar fell 2-6, 6-3, 6-2. Joey McPike dropped a 6-4, 3-6, 6-4 match at No. 3 singles. At No. 1 doubles, Max Havel/Eli Sloan fell 6-2, 6-2. Will Hahn/Brady Torzewski dropped a 6-0, 6-4 decision at No. 1 doubles. The Dragons finish the regular season with an 8-10 record. They will compete in the Mt. Vernon sectional next week. The draw will be held Monday. The JV won 3-2 to close out the season. Senior Brendon Sego won at No. 1 singles to finish his career with a 31-3 record.
