New Palestine High School

The New Palestine girls tennis team celebrated Senior Day Saturday with a 5-0 victory over Pendleton Heights. The Dragons dropped just nine games in sweeping the singles in straight sets. Kaitlyn Mitchell won 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1 singles. Bethany Blachly and Maizy Haynes both won 6-0, 6-0. At doubles, Josephine Harvey/Emily Appleby won 6-3, 6-2, while Amelia Schneider/Riley Watts won 6-1, 6-1. The Dragons won the JV match 10-2. First-round winners included Kenzie Kleiman, Tori Pieratt, Sophie Munson, Amelia Rojowski/Elliott Graham and Ellie Armstrong/Alyssa Appleby. The Dragons are now 8-6 on the season and 4-2 in HHC play. They next play Saturday against Greenfield-Central.
