The New Palestine golf team shot a season-best 354 Monday to clinch the sectional championship at Hawk's Tail. The Dragons won the title by 45 strokes over second-place Mt. Vernon (399). Rushville shot 406. The top three teams advance to the regional. Zoe Nelson led the Dragons with an 84, finishing as the overall sectional runner-up. Lauren Appleby added an 87, Katie Kelley a 90 and Lily Kirchner a 93 on the 18-hole course. Hanna Beller's 97 was the fifth score. The Dragons advance to Saturday's regional at Edgwood GC in Anderson. Teams tee off at 9 a.m. The sectional title is the sixth in school history - all since 2014 - and first since 2018.
