The New Palestine volleyball team pulled out a five-set thriller Thursday over Pendleton Heights, winning 25-14, 25-21, 21-25, 16-25, 20-18. Isabella Gizzi paced the offense with 46 assists and added 19 digs for a double-double. She also had six kills. Lauren Wilson had a huge night with 27 kills and nine digs. Reagan Kleiman added 13 kills. Honour Mallory led the defense with 25 digs. Azure Flagle added 18 digs and two aces. Kyndra Montieth tallied nine digs. "Great win against a very tough opponent," Dragons assistant coach Jamie Morris said. "We were really clicking in the first two sets, Lauren was big for us hitting in the front and back row and everyone was serving tough both of the sets. The third and fourth sets, we struggled to find a rhythm and they really took advantage of that. "Starting the fifth set, Bella (Brownfield) had a couple key points that we really needed especially right out of a timeout. Lauren responded the same way with a clutch kill right out of a timeout. Isabella made great setting choices and tallied a few kills for herself. The defense stepped it up in the fifth set, led by Honour. Reagan made some great plays in the front row and ultimately ending the match with an ace." The Dragons are now 11-2 and 3-0 in HHC play. They next play Monday at Mooresville. The Dragons' JV dropped a 22-25, 25-19, 15-9 decision.
