The New Palestine volleyball team rallied from two sets down Tuesday to beat Delta 23-25, 21-25, 25-14, 25-15, 15-8. Isabella Gizzi had an incredible all-around match with 39 assists, 25 digs and six kills. Lauren Wilson also had a double-double with 20 kills and 18 digs. Reagan Kleiman added a third double-double with 14 kills, 10 digs and four aces. Honour Mallory led the defense with 21 digs, while Azure Flagle had 13 digs and four aces. Bella Brownfield also had a strong all-around match with seven kills and six digs. "Unbelievable team effort tonight," interim coach Jamie Morris said. "We struggled finding our groove the first two sets but settled in for the 3rd and kept battling all night. Our defense was very scrappy tonight on everyone’s part. Lauren was big for us in the front row, getting herself out of a rut. Reagan really turned it around for the last three sets. She and Azure had a great serving night. Also, Isabella and Honour showed tremendous leadership and Rachel (Burke) had a lot of key points we needed as well." The Dragons are now 11-2 and 2-0 in the HHC, having beaten Delta in back-to-back years. The Dragons JV also won 25-12, 25-17. The Dragons are next in action at 5:30 p.m. Thursday at home against Pendleton Heights.
