The New Palestine volleyball team progressively improved Wednesday, defeating Lutheran 27-25, 25-9, 25-18. Honour Mallory led the defense with 11 digs. Azure Flagle added six digs and four aces. Reagan Kleiman tallied 12 kills and three aces to lead the attack. Lauren Wilson added 10 kills. Bella Brownfield had five kills and three aces, while Rachel Burke and Nyla Lewis had five kills each. Isabella Gizzi tallied eight digs, four kills and 32 assists. "Good win against a solid opponent," Dragons assistant coach Jamie Morris said. "We struggled in the first set with blocking and passing. Once we figured that out, we found our rhythm in the second and third. We starting serving tough, forcing them out of system a lot, which helped us in executing. We found our rhythm in the second set. Reagan and Lauren both had a phenomenal night offensively, freshmen Azure Flagle had a big night from the service line. Honour was the anchor in the back row and Isabella did a great job at mixing up the offense." The Dragons won the JV match 25-21, 25-10 and the freshman match 25-5, 25-10. The Dragons are now 8-1 on the season. They next play Saturday in the Greenwood Invitational.
