New Palestine High School

The New Palestine gymnastics team celebrated its final regular season meet with a victory Tuesday, tallying 101.025 points to beat Westfield (99.975) and Shelbyville (82.925) at The Gymnastics Company. Prior to the meet, the Dragons honored senior Rebecca Johnson. Chiara Polo and Lynzie Stiller tied for the victory in vault, each scoring 8.55. Johnson was fourth (8.3) and Olivia Frank fifth (8.25). Stiller also won the uneven bars, scoring 8.6. Frank was third (7.975) and Polo sixth (7.4). Frank won the balance beam (8.675), with Stiller fifth (7.95). Stiller and Frank went 1-2 on floor exercise, with Stiller scoring 9.4 and Frank 9.325. Polo was fifth (8.65). The Dragons next compete Saturday in the sectional at Connersville, with an 11 a.m. start time.
