The New Palestine girls soccer team continued its strong play Thursday with a 6-0 home victory over Yorktown. The victory improved the Dragons' record to 5-1-1 and 3-0 in HHC play. The Dragons are unbeaten in their last four games. The Dragons took control of the game early. Bethany Aldridge started the scoring when she took a great pass from Tylar Whitaker and placed it in the upper 90. Allie Blum then found the back of the net after Maddy Potter played her a beautiful through ball, giving the Dragons a 2-0 lead, which they maintained into halftime. In the second half, Blum found the back of the net again when Gabby Brown found her on a great pass. Mia Knoop scored her second goal of the season on a fantastic shot from the corner. Brown also scored on an assist from Blum. Maddy Potter finished the scoring when she finished a great pass from Lydia Sams and placed the ball perfectly and out of reach of the keeper. The defense, led by goalkeeper Grace Hasenkamp, shut down the Tigers' attack, allowing one shot in the game. There was no JV game. The Dragons are next in action Saturday at HHC foe Shelbyville. The JV game kicks at 9 a.m., with the varsity scheduled for 10:45 a.m.
