Tennis falls at Shelbyville

The New Palestine boys tennis team dropped a close 3-2 decision Thursday at Shelbyville. Moses Haynes won 6-1, 6-3 at No. 1 singles, while Arjomand Khokhar won 6-3, 6-3 at No. 2 singles. Both were sophomores facing senior opponents. The Dragons dropped two close matches at No. 3 singles - where Brady Torzewski fell 6-4, 6-3, and at No. 1 doubles, where Max Havel/Eli Sloan went three sets but fell 6-2, 2-6, 6-0. The Dragons JV won 3-1, with Joey McPike, Joel Dorval and Tyler Wilson/Nick Parrett winning. The Dragons are now 4-7 on the season and 0-4 in HHC play. They next play Wednesday at home against Lawrence Central.
