Swimmers sweep on Senior Night

The New Palestine swimming and diving teams swept Connersville Thursday on the Dragons' Senior Night. The Dragons girls won 125-35, while the boys won 137-36. Winning for the Dragons girls were Ansley Tucker in the 200 free (2:29.36), Ireland Armstrong in the 200 IM (2:46.30), Sullie Leavell in the 50 free (25.88) and 100 butterfly (1:09.18), Isabelle Tull in diving (178.75) and Rachel Hamilton in the 100 breaststroke (1:25.83). In the 200 medley relay, Emma Snyder, Lillie Abernathy, Hamilton and Adrianna Huston won (2:06.83), with Arianna Tull, Hanna Stone, Armstrong and Emily Appleby second. Leavell, Hamilton, Snyder and Huston won the 200 free relay (1:52.03), with Stone, Armstrong, Tucker and Arianna Tull second. Emily Appleby, Abernathy, Leavell and Huston won the 400 free relay (4:10.70). Finishing second were Isabelle Singer in the 200 free and 500 free, Lauren Appleby in diving, Snyder in the 100 butterfly, Huston in the 100 free, Abernathy in the 100 backstroke and Hanna in the 100 breaststroke. Winning for the Dragons boys were Dawson Lynch in the 200 free (2:02.28) and 100 free (53.42), Quinn Crawmer in the 200 IM (2:21.93), Karter McNeil in the 50 free (24.60), Cade Rodgers in diving (196.55), Reese Cox in the 100 butterfly (59.64). Blake Hurst in the 100 backstroke (1:03.71) and Aidan Kingery in the 100 breaststroke (1:07.38). Hurst, Kingery, Jake Myers and Liam Fuller won the 200 medley relay (1:50.33), with Crawmer, Dontae Thompson, Luke Appleby and James Watson second. McNeil, Cox, Ashton Turner and Watson won the 200 free relay (1:39.55). Thompson, Turner, Myers and Lynch won the 400 free relay (3:43.55), with Hurst, Crawmer, Appleby and Cox second. Finishing second were Cox in the 200 free, Fuller in the 200 IM, Hurst in the 50 free, Daxton Gibson in diving, Jake Myers in the 100 free, Turner in the 500 free and Thompson in the 100 backstroke. The Dragons girls finish the dual meet season 10-1. The boys are 9-0 with one dual meet remaining. Both teams next compete Saturday in the Warren Central Invitational.
