The New Palestine girls basketball team dropped a 77-26 decision Tuesday to No. 1 Lawrence Central. The shorthanded Dragons trailed 35-5 at halftime. LC extended the lead to 55-15 after three and scored 22 points in the final quarter, with several starters playing and hitting 3-pointers in the closing frame. Allie Blum led the Dragons with 10 points. Kendra Moore and Natalie Sevier scored four each. Kenna Tweedy and Sadey Hughbanks tallied three points each. Kylee Beranek scored two. The Dragons (6-8) are next in action Thursday at Southport.
