New Palestine High School

The New Palestine boys wrestling team won its ninth straight dual match Wednesday, beating Mt. Vernon 51-15 at NPHS. The Dragons won 10 of the 14 matches, and have now swept all three Hancock County foes in dual meets in December. Wes Harbert (120), Peyton Hornsby (138) and William Glesing (285) all won by forfeit. Cole Vandygriff (132), Bryce Doss (144), Elijah Alonso (150) and Brandon Brees (190) all won by fall. Landon Stranger won a 6-2 decision at 113. Jaedyn Jeffries won a 6-3 decision at 157. Gavin Wilcher also won by a 6-2 decision at 175. The Dragons are now 9-1 on the season. They next compete Saturday in an invitational at Penn High School near Mishawaka.
