The New Palestine boys soccer team controlled possession and chances Thursday at Pendleton Heights, but wasn't able to find the back of the net during 80 minutes of regular time and 14 minutes of extra time. The Dragons eventually fell 0-0 (5-3) in a shootout to the Arabians, ending their bid at a conference title one game short. The Dragons finish the regular season 7-9 and 3-2 in HHC play, finishing in a second-place tie in the league. Their six-match winning streak was snapped in the process. The Dragons held the ball in the attacking third for much of the game, but had four shots on target during the contest, all of which were stopped by the Arabians' goalkeeper. In the shootout, Hudson Hughes, Mark Everett and Zach Holmes all scored, but PH scored in all five rounds and the Dragons hit a crossbar in the second round. The Dragons open sectional play Wednesday at Greenwood against Perry Meridian.
