New Palestine High School

The No. 23 New Palestine boys tennis team downed Mt. Vernon 4-1 Wednesday to finish the regular season with a 15-1 record and a 13-match winning streak. Three of the Dragons' wins came in dominant fashion. Carson Rush won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 singles, while Tyler Walter won 6-1, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Brady Groce/Jack Hehmann posted a 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 doubles. At No. 1 doubles, Jackson Clark/Davis Harrison rallied to win 1-6, 6-4, 7-5. Brock Hehmann dropped a 6-2, 6-4 decision at No. 3 singles. The Dragons JV won 5-0. Blake Wilson, Braedyn Shaffer, Ian Uhl, Gavin Berry/Jacob Kleine and Sam Busby/Cooper Harman all won for the Dragons. The Dragons next will compete in the sectional Sept. 30 at Mt. Vernon, with the opponent to be determined.
