Girls soccer blasts Southport

The New Palestine girls soccer team had a big night at home Tuesday, blasting Southport 9-0. The Dragons took a 2-0 lead at halftime on goals by Maddy Potter and Neveah Gebhart, then exploded after the break. Sydney Miller gave the Dragons a three-goal cushion shortly after halftime. Allie Blum then tallied twice to push the lead to 5-0. Abby Lambdin, Tylar Whitaker, Brooke Tanksley and Rylee Hurst all also scored in the second half. Grace Hasenkamp and Jaeda Jeffries shared the clean sheet. The Dragons are now 3-1-1 on the season. They next play Thursday at New Castle. The Dragons JV also won 5-0. Addison Lindell scored twice. Jillian Champ, Shaylee Frank and Tanksley also scored.
