Tennis drops nailbiter at Franklin

The New Palestine tennis team went the distance in several close, competitive matches Tuesday, before eventually falling 4-1 at Franklin. Moses Haynes continued his strong season with a 6-2, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles. The Grizzly Cubs swept the other four matches, but all were extremely tight. Arcomand Khokhar dropped a 6-7(2), 6-2, 6-1 decision at No. 2 singles, while Joey McPike fell 6-4, 7-6(3) at No. 3. At doubles, Max Havel/Brady Torzewski fell 7-5, 2-6, 6-2 at No. 1, while Will Hahn and Andrew Hahn dropped a 6-2, 6-7(6), 6-3 decision at No. 2. The Dragons are now 1-4 on the season. They continue a four-matches-in-four-days stretch Wednesday at Greenfield-Central. The Dragons JV won 9-3.
