Volleyball wins five-set thriller over Greenfield-Central

The New Palestine volleyball team remained perfect on the year, pulling out a five-set victory over host Greenfield-Central. The Dragons won 25-22, 17-25, 26-24, 23-25, 15-9, taking command in the fifth set. The Class 4A No. 10 Dragons are now 11-0 on the season and 1-0 in Hoosier Heritage Conference play. Cara Steele had 17 kills to lead the Dragons' attack. Adelynn Crispin added 15 kills, including five in the fifth set. She also had 13 digs for a double-double. Elena Cook tallied 11 kills and seven aces. She had five aces in the fourth set, in which the Dragons built a 13-4 lead before G-C rallied. In the fifth set, Cook had two more aces to help the Dragons take command. She also had three blocks. Caylee Brown tallied eight kills and two blocks. Brileigh Tincher had 20 assists and 13 digs to lead the Dragons and post her first career double-double. Kennedy Armstrong added 18 assists and nine digs. Emmi Robinson tallied 24 digs to lead the defense. Brooklyn Crim added eight digs and three blocks. The Dragons next play Wednesday at home against Lutheran.
