New Palestine High School

The New Palestine boys tennis team won a number of tight matches Monday to post a 4-1 victory over Connersville. Brock Hehmann won 6-3, 6-3 at No.3 singles, while Jackson Clark/Davis Harrison won 6-0, 6-4 at No. 1 doubles. With the Dragons leading 2-1, two matches went beyond the second set. Brady Groce/Brock Hehmann won 6-2, 4-6, 6-4 at No. 2 doubles. At No. 1 singles, Carson Rush won a super-tiebreaker 6-7(3), 6-2, 12-10. The lone defeat came to Tyler Walter at No. 2 singles, who fell 6-2, 6-3. The Dragons JV won 5-0. Blake Wilson, Braedyn Shaffer, Sean Pearson, Gavin Berry/Jacob Kleine and Sam Busby/Ian Uhl all won. The Dragons are now 7-1 and have won five straight matches. They next play Tuesday at home against Waldron.
