The New Palestine volleyball team downed Mt. Vernon 19-25, 25-12, 26-24, 26-28, 18-16 in a five-set thriller Thursday night on the Dragons' Senior Night. Natalie Sevier had a career-high 20 kills to lead the Dragons' attack. Bella Brownfield added 17 kills and 16 digs. Hayden Ramsey tallied 10 kills and five blocks. Rachel Burke also had 10 kills. Sam Gooding had a double-double with 52 assists, 10 digs, two kills and an ace. Nyla Lewis had two blocks. Azure Flagle led the defense with 22 digs and an ace. Kyndra Monteith added eight digs and four aces. "What a game," Dragons coach Kelli Gabehart said. "Great win on senior night. I am so proud of them." The Dragons finish the regular season 25-5. They open sectional play Tuesday at Pendleton Heights against Richmond.
