The New Palestine boys tennis team had to wait out a lightning delay, and then play deep into the night Wednesday before knocking off Greenfield-Central 3-2. With the victory, the Dragons improved to 5-1 (2-1 HHC) and secured the HHC traveling trophy, while also handing the Cougars their first loss on their new courts. For the second straight night, Brock Hehmann secured a tight three-set victory to give the Dragons the clinching point. HE rallied to win 5-7, 6-0, 6-4 at No. 3 singles. The Dragons secured the first two points from Tyler Walter at No. 2 singles (6-1, 6-2) and Jackson Clark/Davis Harrison at No. 1 doubles (7-5, 6-1). The Dragons dropped two straight-set matches at No. 1 singles, where Carson Rush fell 6-2, 6-2; and at No. 2 doubles, where Brady Groce/Jack Hehmann dropped a 7-6(1), 6-2 decision. The Dragons swept the JV 5-0, with Blake Wilson, Braedyn Shaffer, Sean Pearson, Gavin Berry/Jacob Kleine and Sam Busby/Ian Uhl all winning.
