The New Palestine boys tennis team pulled out a dramatic 3-2 victory Tuesday at Whiteland, winning two matches with super-tiebreakers. With the Dragons trailing 2-1, Tyler Walter split sets at No. 2 singles. He won a tight super-tiebreaker - in lieu of a third set - to win 6-4, 4-6, 10-8 and square the match at 2-2. That shifted the attention to the No.1 doubles court, where Jackson Clark and Davis Harrison had also split two sets. They pulled out their tiebreaker to win 7-6(5), 3-6, 10-7. Carson Rush delivered the Dragons' first point with a 6-4, 6-1 victory at No. 1 singles. The Dragons' two defeats were both by 6-2, 6-3 scores - by Brock Hehmann at No. 3 singles and Brady Groce/Jack Hehmann at No. 2 doubles. The Dragons are now 2-0. They face Delta Wednesday in their home opener. The Dragons JV fell 3-2. Braedyn Shaffer and Gavin Berry/Ian Uhl were the Dragons winners.
