New Palestine High School

The New Palestine golf team shot 383 in Friday's opening round at the IHSAA State Finals at Prairie View Golf Club in Carmel. The Dragons will tee off at 10:10 a.m. for Saturday's second and final round of the State Finals. The Dragons are currently 17th of 18 teams. Lily Kirchner led the Dragons with a 94, including the team's best nine-hole score with a 42 on her final nine. Lauren Deering shot 95. Katie Kelley added a 96, while Lauren Appleby shot 98. Hanna Beller shot 101 but had the Dragons' lone birdie of the day, scoring a 2 on the par-3 12th hole.
