The New Palestine volleyball team had a strong night defensively Monday, with 70 digs en route to a 25-19, 25-23, 25-21 victory at Franklin Central. Bella Brownfield had a double-double with 13 digs and 10 kills. Azure Flagle had 22 digs and two aces. Kyndra Monteith added nine digs and two aces. Rachel Burke had seven digs and five kills. Makaeli Johnson added seven digs and an ace. Sam Gooding had seven digs, 31 assists and three aces. Up front, Hayden Ramsey tallied seven kills and two blocks, while Nyla Lewis had six kills and Natalie Sevier four. "Great team win over Franklin Central tonight," Dragons coach Kelli Gabehart said. "The special thing about this group is everyone contributes. We are a true team and the girls work really well together." The Dragons are now 18-3 on the season. They next play Tuesday at Yorktown.
