The New Palestine girls tennis team had a handful of tight matches, but dropped Thursday's sectional championship match to host Mt. Vernon 4-1. The Dragons' win came from the No. 2 doubles team of Addison Ballard/Alyssa Beller, who won 6-4, 1-6, 10-5 in a super-tiebreaker. At singles, Arabella Deisher dropped a 6-0, 6-0 decision, while Riley Watts pushed her match to a break in each set before falling 6-4, 6-4. Macy Thomas had a strong start but fell 6-4, 6-0. At No. 1 doubles, Alyssa Appleby/Elliott Graham fell 6-1, 6-1. The Dragons finished their season 13-9.
