Cofer wins HHC boys golf title, Dragons finish second

Luke Cofer shot an even-par 72 Saturday to win the Hoosier Heritage Conference individual boys golf championship. Cofer led the Dragons to a second-place finish in the conference meet, as the team shot 316, finishing seven strokes back of champion Pendleton Heights. Cofer shot a one-under 35 on the front nine, and followed with a 37 on the back to win the conference title. Will Clark added a 77 and finished fifth overall. Andrew Wooton added an 83, while Jackson Clark shot 84. Cooper Hurst's 85 was the fifth score. The Dragons finished ahead of Mt. Vernon (325), New Castle (331), Delta (333), Yorktown (335), Shelbyville (380) and Greenfield-Central (381). The Dragons are next in action Thursday at Royal Hylands against Eastern Hancock.
