New Palestine High School

The New Palestine girls tennis team posted a 4-1 victory Friday on Senior Day over Pendleton Heights. The Dragons finished the regular season with a 12-8 record, including 5-2 in HHC play. All four of the Dragons' wins were by straight sets. Arabella Deisher won 6-0, 6-1 and Riley Watts 6-2, 6-2 at singles. Alyssa Appleby/Elliott Graham won 6-4, 7-5, while Addison Ballard/Alyssa Beller won 6-1, 6-1 at doubles. The lone loss was at No. 3 singles, where Macy Thomas fell 7-6(3), 6-0. The Dragons JV won 8-1. Sophie Munson, Sophie Crickmore/Amaya Kennard, Mattingly Tiede-White/Olivia Hart, Malina Mahurin/Sydney Walter, Ella Flannagan/Ava Forsythe, Kacie Ferree/Madelyn Fox, Amelia Kell/Abigail Hulet and Hannah Weller/Bryn Sprunger all won. The Dragons open sectional play next week at Mt. Vernon.
