Tennis wins 3-2 match over Shelbyville

The New Palestine girls tennis team won two tight matches to beat host Shelbyville 3-2 Thursday in a Hoosier Heritage Conference match. Playing without their top singles player for the third straight match, the Dragons got a big win from Sophie Munson at No. 3 singles, as she won 6-4, 6-4 to help NP clinch the match. The No. 2 doubles team of Addison Ballard/Alyssa Beller rallied to win 5-7, 6-2, 6-3 to finish the match off. Alyssa Appleby/Elliott Graham won 6-0, 6-0 at No. 1 doubles. At singles, Riley Watts fell 6-0, 6-1 at No. 1, and Macy Thomas dropped a 6-0, 6-0 match at No. 2. The Dragons are now 11-9 overall and 4-2 in HHC play. They finish the regular season Friday at home against Pendleton Heights for Senior Night. The Dragons JV won 6-3. Ellie Armstrong/Amelia Kell, Madelyn Fox/Kacie Ferree, Ella Flannagan/Ava Forsythe, Alyssa Mitchell/Kenzie Baker and Abigail Hulet/Sofia Delgado all won.
