Golf second at Batesville

The New Palestine boys golf team shot 329 and finished second to the host school in Saturday's Batesville Invitational at Hillcrest Country Club. Luke Cofer shot 75, finishing second overall by one stroke in a 60-golfer field. Will Clark shot an 81 and Andrew Wooton 85. Jackson Clark and Cooper Hurst each shot 88. The Dragons were four strokes ahead of third-place Jennings County, which shot 333, out of the 11 complete teams in the field. The Dragons' JV shot 343 at the Connersville Invitational at Arbor Crossing, led by 84s from Ajay Kropp and Tyler Walter. The Dragons varsity is next in action Tuesday at Hawk's Tail against Eastern Hancock and Shenanodah. The JV is slated to face Warren Central Monday at Maple Creek.
