Track teams split with Bears on Senior Night

The New Palestine track and field teams split with Lawrence Central Tuesday on the Dragons' Senior Night at Kelso Stadium. The Dragons girls won 75-57, while the boys dropped a 78-54 decision to the Bears. Winners for the Dragons girls were Hailey Pardieck in the 800 (2:27.65) and 1600 (5:19.87), Taylor Burke in the 300 hurdles (51.15), Brynn Richey in the 3200 (13:54.76), Lillie Abernathy in the shot put (33-9), Cadyn Brown in discus (105-4), Abby Journay in high jump (4-10) and the 4x800 relay of McKenzie Hacker, Burke, Heidi Bloomer and Abby Journay (11:13.12). Finishing second were Cora Kissel in the 100 hurdles, Elena Daugherty in the 1600, Bre Journay in the 400, Justice Tweedy in the 300 hurdles, Olivia Weaver in the 800, Sage Harrison in the 3200, Cadyn Brown in the shot put and Savannah Baird in pole vault. Winners for the Dragons boys were Mike Bauer in the 800 (2:04.82) and 1600 (4:46.53). Paxton Holmes in the 300 hurdles (41.02), Gabe Silvey in the 3200 (10:55.34), Devon Dimond in the high jump (5-6) and Will Worth in pole vault (9-0). Finishing second were Carson Cooper in the 1600, Zion Koch in the 800, Bryce Neuner in the 200, Worth in long jump, Aiden Dillon in high jump and Kamryn Clark in pole vault. The Dragons are next in action Thursday at Pendleton Heights in their final dual meet of the season.
