Luke Cofer shot a 71 to finish second in Saturday's Center Grove Trojan Classic at Hickory Stick, leading the New Palestine boys golf team to a fifth-place finish in the 18-team event. Cofer's even-par round in very difficult windy and wet conditions tied for first place after 18 holes, but he lost a scorecard playoff to win silver. Will Clark shot 77, Andrew Wooton 79 and Jackson Clark 81 to round out the Dragons' scoring. Cooper Hurst was the fifth score with an 87. Franklin won the event. The Dragons were playing their first round after being ranked for the first time, as they came in No. 16 in the Indiana High School Golf coaches poll. They are next in action Tuesday at Hawk's Tail against Franklin Central.
