Tennis beats New Castle

The New Palestine tennis team continued its winning ways Wednesday with a 4-1 victory at New Castle. The Dragons won two three-set matches and multiple tiebreaks to earn the victory. Moses Haynes had a relatively stress-free 6-2, 6-0 victory at No. 1 singles. At No. 2, Arjomand Khokhar won 7-6(3), 6-0. Brady Torzewski remained unbeaten on the year at No. 3 singles, winning 6-3, 2-6, 6-2. At doubles, Eli Sloan/Tyler Wilson won a third-set tiebreaker to clinch their match 6-7(1), 6-3, 7-6(3). The Dragons' lone loss came at No. 1 doubles, where Max Havel/Joey McPike dropped a 7-6, 7-55 decision. The Dragons won the JV match 9-1, with Carson Rush, Luke Bartusek, Joel Dorval, Brock Hehmann, Nick Parrett/Andrew Hahn, Jesse Isaacs/Carter Willey, Trent Ruble/Rylan Edwards, Luke Appleby/Jack Hehmann and Knox Atkinson/Miles Gielerak all winning. The Dragons are now 7-4 overall and 4-2 in the HHC after their fifth straight victory. They next play Thursday at home against Triton Central.
