New Palestine High School

The New Palestine tennis team barely beat the incoming rain Wednesday to beat Roncalli 3-1. The teams barely got four of the five varsity matches completed before lightning and heavy rains moved in. The Dragons swept the singles to clinch the contest. Arabella Deisher won 6-1, 6-1, Riley Watts 6-0, 6-0 and Macy Thomas posted a 6-2, 6-1 victory. At doubles, Alyssa Beller/Elliott Graham dropped a 6-2, 6-2 decision. Alyssa Appleby/Addison Ballard were unable to finish. They were leading 6-4, 6-5 when the rain and lightning canceled the remainder of their match. The Dragons are now 3-2 on the season. They next compete Saturday against Batesville.
