The New Palestine girls golf team won its home opener Wednesday at Hawk's Tail, defeating Southwestern (Shelby) 233-277. Lily Kirchner was the match medalist with a 49. Janie Hamilton shot 54 and Ava Hasecuster 59. Matti Tiede-White and Lauren Purnell each shot 61s. Marisa Dillon added a 63. The Dragons are now 2-1 on the season. They next compete Thursday at Southport.
