Torzewski leads tennis in county

Brady Torzewski won the No. 3 singles championship at Saturday's Hancock County tennis tournament to remain unbeaten on the season. Torzewski led the New Palestine tennis team to a second-place finish in the tournament. Mt. Vernon won the title. Greenfield-Central was third and Eastern Hancock fourth. Torzewski won 6-4, 6-3 over Eastern Hancock's No. 3 singles player in the semifinal, then rallied to win 0-6, 6-3, 10-7 over Mt. Vernon in the championship match. Arjomand Khokhar was second at No. 2 singles. Max Havel/Joey McPike finished second at No. 1 doubles. Moses Haynes finished third at No. 1 singles, while Eli Sloan/Tyler Wilson also finished third at No. 2 doubles. The Dragons are next in action Monday at Pendleton Heights.
