New Palestine High School

Multiple athletes from New Palestine competed Saturday at the Hoosier State Relays State Finals at the Indiana State Fairgrounds. The indoor meet is a qualification meet and includes athletes from throughout Indiana. Abby Journay had the Dragons' top individual finish, placing 10th in the long jump (16-11.5). She was also 13th in the high jump (5-2).Hailey Pardieck had the Dragons' top finish on the track, placing 12th in the 3200 (10:56.82). The Dragons' girls 4x800 relay of Olivia Weaver, Adi Smith, Bre Journay and Elena Daugherty finished 22nd (10:23.35). The distance medley relay team of Daugherty, Abby Journay, Weaver and Pardieck was 20th (13:06.19). For the Dragons' boys, Mike Bauer finished 16th in the 3200 (9:29.14). The Dragons begin their outdoor season April 9 at Shelbyville in a triangular meet with Greenfield-Central.
