New Palestine High School

The New Palestine boys volleyball team opened its season Saturday by going 2-2 at the Carmel Invitational. The Dragons dropped their opening match 25-10, 25-21 to host Carmel. In the second match, they fell 25-21, 25-21 to Southport. Dawson Lawless had 17 assists. Hayden Taylor and Jude Hinkle had five kills each. The Dragons beat Columbus North 25-19, 25-19 in the third match. Lawless had 15 assists and Peyton Mullen nine kills. In the final match of the day, the Dragons won a close 25-23, 25-23 victory over Illiana Christian. Taylor tallied eight kills. Hinkle had seven kills, seven digs and two aces. Lawless had five kills and 25 assists. The Dragons continue their season March 31 at home against Herron.
