New Palestine High School

Freshman Lauren Deering shot a 38 to lead the New Palestine golf team to a victory in a triangular meet with Richmond and New Castle at the Richmond Elks Country Club. The Dragons shot 171, besting Richmond's 196 and New Castle's 225. Deering's 38 led a Dragons team that had five other players in the 40s. Lauren Appleby shot 43, Lily Kirchner 44, Kate Stanfield 45, Katie Kelley 46 and Hanna Beller 49. The dual victories give the Dragons a 10-2 record. They travel to Shelbyville Thursday for a matchup with the Golden Bears at Blue Bear Golf Course.
