Gymnastics sets school record, wins Rushville Invitational

The New Palestine gymnastics team set a school record Saturday en route to winning its fifth straight Rushville Invitational title. The Dragons scored 104.3 points to win the five-team meet over Noblesville (102.7), Shelbyville (89.025), Rushville (84.625) and Morristown (33.425). The Dragons set a school record for overall score on the balance beam at 27.3. Kalle Jones won the event with a score of 9.275. Lexi Hall was third (9.125) and Lynzie Stiller sixth (8.9). Stiller and Olivia Frank went 1-2 on floor exercise, with Stiller scoring 9.25 and Frank 8.85. Hall was sixth (8.725). Stiller finished second on uneven bars (8.425). Frank was fifth (7.775) and Hall sixth (7.675). On vault, Stiller finished third (8.9) and Frank fifth (8.775). Stiller won the all-around (35.475). Hall was fourth (33.625) and Frank seventh (33.0). The Dragons are back in action Wednesday with a quadrangular meet at The Gymnastics Company .
