CC teams fifth at PH

The New Palestine cross country teams both placed fifth at Wednesday's Pendleton Heights Arabian Roundup. The meet was rescheduled from the week before due to heat. The Dragons boys placed fifth in a 14-team field. Yorktown (56), Pendleton Heights (68) and Lapel (71) took the top three spots. Wapahani scored 79 for fourth, while the Dragons had 139 places, finishing 14 ahead of Monroe Central. Jacob Cooper was 10th (17:35.6), Gavin Smith 23rd (18:36.2), Liam Cleveland 32nd (19:22.8), Sam Ragsdale 38th (19:40.7) and Jacob Collins 40th (19:49.2). The Dragons girls also finished fifth with 135 places. Hamilton Heights (47), Pendleton Heights (49) and Yorktown (94) took the top three spots, with Monroe Central (102) fourth. The Dragons finished well ahead of sixth-place New Castle, which had 173. Courtney Study finished third in 21:10.2. Cami Massari was 25th (22:56.2), Amelia Stone 34th (23:29.9), Addison Uhl 38th (23:45.5) and Heidi Bloomer 42nd (24:07.3). The Dragons are next in action Saturday at the Marion Invitational at Indiana Wesleyan University.
