New Palestine High School

The New Palestine tennis team swept the singles Monday to open its season with a 3-2 victory at Greensburg. Arjamond Khokhar was the first player off the court, winning 6-0, 6-0 at No. 2 singles. Joey McPike followed with a 6-4, 6-3 victory at No. 3 singles. At No. 1 singles, Moses Haynes clinched the victory for the Dragons. The sophomore outdueled a talented Greensburg senior to win 7-5, 7-6(2). The Dragons' two doubles teams played well but came up short in their matches. The Dragons' JV also won 5-0. The Dragons are next in action Tuesday at Whiteland.
