Saturday, the Dragons hit the road for a late-afternoon tilt at Franklin Central. The Dragons have won four straight meetings with the Flashes, whom they’ve faced off-and-on since 1938-39. FC faces conference foe Zionsville Friday night before facing the Dragons. DRAGONS NOTES The Dragons won two games last week, taking command in the fourth quarter twice to beat Chatard and Greenfield-Central at home. In both games, the Dragons had four double-figure scorers. In Friday’s 84-70 win over Greenfield-Central, Will Davison scored 37 points - the 11th-highest total in school history. The sophomore hit 13-of-22 from the floor, 5-of-9 from 3-point range and 6-of-8 from the line. He took control in the second half as the Dragons pulled away, scoring 22 points. He had 12 of the Dragons’ first 14 points in the fourth quarter as they built a double-digit lead. In addition to Davison’s 37 points, Evan Darrah tallied 14 points and six rebounds. Liam Atkinson had 10 points and a career-high seven boards. Eli Parrett had 10 points, four rebounds and five assists. Evan Study came off the bench and scored eight points - all in the third quarter - to go with three boards and four assists. The Dragons shot 23-of-28 from the line against G-C. They were even better - 21-of-25 - against Chatard - making them 83.0% for the week. Against Chatard, Davison led the team with 15 points and eight boards. Sam Hirschy tallied 12 points, while Parrett had 11 points, six boards and six assists. Darrah had 11 points and a career-high seven rebounds. SCOUTING THE TROJANS New Castle has started the year 2-4 under the direction of new coach Matt Luce, who had previously had a successful career at Wapahani.
