Boys tennis debuts new courts with win

The New Palestine boys tennis team debuted its new courts Tuesday with a 4-1 victory over Franklin. The Dragons swept the singles, with Moses Haynes winning 6-1, 6-4, Arjomand Khokhar winning 7-6(4), 4-6, 6-4, while Brady Torzewski improved to 3-0 with a 6-2, 4-6, 6-2 victory. The No. 1 doubles team of Max Havel and Joey McPike also won in three sets 6-7, 6-3, 6-3. Eli Sloan/Carson Rush dropped a 6-4, 6-3 decision at No. 2 doubles. The Dragons' Wednesday match against Greenfield-Central and Thursday match at Shenandoah were both called due to excessive heat. The Dragons are back in action Saturday at the Noblesville Invitational.
