The New Palestine girls volleyball team improved to 2-0 Monday with a 25-10, 25-13, 25-5 victory at Connersville. Azure Flagle led the defense with 21 digs and two aces. Bella Brownfield added 11 digs and five kills. Sam Gooding directed the offense with 15 assists and added five aces. Rachel Burke led the Dragons at the net with nine kills and added three aces. Nyla Lewis and Hayden Ramsey also had five kills each. Ramsey added two blocks. "We played a great match tonight against Connersville," Dragons coach Kelli Gabehart said. "Sam did a great job running the offense. We were able to run a lot of free ball plays and work on combos. We did a nice job closing out each set and finishing the match." The Dragons are now 2-0 on the season. They next play Thursday at Guerin Catholic. The Dragons also won the JV match 25-13, 25-21.
